Meet Sylva Dentist

F. Patrick McGuire, DDS

As a child growing up in Sylva, F. Patrick McGuire became interested in dentistry after seeing his parents, grandparents, and relatives caring for patients in the family practice. That’s why he entered the School of Dentistry at Emory University after graduating from Pfeiffer College in 1975. After earning his Doctor of Dental Surgery degree in 1980, Dr. Patrick McGuire continued his family’s legacy by joining the practice.

Everyone always comments on Dr. Patrick McGuire’s pleasant and caring chairside manner. He enjoys meeting new patients and spending time getting to know them. Dr. Patrick McGuire can discuss different treatments and therapies with you since he continues to follow the latest research and advancements in dentistry. He is a Pankey Institute graduate and has also studied under dental leaders, like John Kois, Jack Turbyfill, and John Cranham. His commitment to learning has helped him earn fellowship status with the Academy of General Dentistry and the American College of Dentists. Dr. Patrick McGuire also refines his skills as a member of the Florida Prosthodontic Study Club.

Dr. Patrick McGuire is a member of the American Dental Association and theNorth Carolina Dental Association. Most recently, he was selected to be the president of the American Academy of Dental Practice Administration. Outside of the office, Dr. Patrick McGuire volunteers his time with the Sylva Rotary Club and the United Methodist Church. He also enjoys spending time with his wife, children, and grandchildren
